Birthday Trip to NYC!
Since this birthday I was hitting the big 3-0, I told Jaren that I needed to get away so I didn't have to think about it! He planned the best trip ever to New York City. We stayed in Times Square (where you can see the amazing view from our room), went to the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero and the museum there, Central Park, Serendipity for their famous frozen hot chocolate, the Empire State Building (where my brother Gary works), and went to two Broadway shows. We saw the classic Les Mis and Wicked. They were both AMAZING!! Jaren had planned for us to see Les Mis before we left, but once we were there, I put on a little pressure to see Wicked too. How many times do we go to New York, right? I also had some birthday leverage. But, after we saw it, he loved it! It was SOOOO good! Very worth it! We also ate at the Russian Tea Room hoping to get some authentic Russian food, and although I don't think anyone working there was actually Russian, that was definitely the best beef stroganoff I have ever eaten, actually probably one of the best things I've EVER eaten. It was almost too pretty to eat; their presentation was perfect. Jaren branched out and had lamb and Gary had wild boar. I also had some borsh, but it wasn't the best I've had for sure. I know some Ukrainian ladies they need to recruit for their kitchen! We didn't spend a whole lot of time at Central Park, but in the half hour or so we were there we saw SIX (and I'm not exaggerrating) sets of twins! We were just sitting there, hanging out and we would say, "Oh, look, twins!" and then, "Oh, another set of twins!" and then, "I can't believe it! More twins!", and then,"Ok, what's going on!" and then, "This is really starting to freak me out."

How fun does that trip look? Really fun! Totally jealous. When I told Jared what you guys were doing he told me that he didn't love me as much as Jaren loves Kari, at least he was honest!
It looks like you had a great birthday! Im so glad :) Hope you are doing well!
